The Most Handsome Men In History
71Deciding on the short list for "The Most Handsome Men In History" is a tough one. This is my list, so don't expect to agree with all my choices (just don't be expecting Robert Pattinson, even if I am English like him!) By the way, non of these are in any order, now that would be difficult!
Johnny Depp, for one thing, seems genuinely bright. Interviews and etcetera, he can actually speak intelligently when unscripted. This is very attractive. Also, his sense of humour, and gift of timing as an actor is impeccable. He has that mix of 'masculine' and 'feminine' characteristics which intrigue and attract without ever careening into effeminacy.
James Dean was the definition of cool: rebelious, angst-ridden, and somewhat dangerous. Despite what many women will say, they always want a bad boy at heart. That, and the angular, classically beautiful features, pretty eyes and his blond hair makes him (in my opinion) one of the most hansome men in history.
Denzel Washington has an unsual appeal for me, I wouldn't even say that handsome is the right word to describe him (but he still belongs in the list). His face is very strong, and very symmetrical aswell - which is mathmatical beauty. His eyes also are very glisteny.
Elvis Presley could just as easily be described as beautiful as handsome (this is before his later years, in which he let go..a little). His dark eyes and hair, the curved lip and tall frame are the definition of being handsome. He simply oozed sex appeal, but at the same time gentle and playful in nature.
Will Smith challanges the idea of handsome as there is no chisseled cheekbones but most definitely is a square jaw, I think his handsomeness is in the eyes, they almost bore into you. His height and masculinity give him an edge.
Paul Newman epitomizes the word handsome. He was a huge icon and was an interesting character at the same time, interested in auto racing, humanitarian work and of course, acting. His blue eyes are world famous and can only be described as truely beautiful.
Colin Farrell, I think gets a lot of bad press and some of it is probably true, yes. But this doesn't take away from how handsome he is. A great irish looker and a personality to match: he isn't boring. It's his just thrown togther look that makes him work, he isn't too clean cut and his face is shaggy and scrumptious all at the same time. Very handsome.

Paul Newman...delicious, and the list is also missing Marlon Brando. James Dean, oh my God, he is the ultimate heartthrob. I am obsessed with him :)
I was just thinking that Johnny drop should be on the list and then, he turns out to be the first one! Very good job here!
awesome list..johny and dean are too good, my all time favs
Paul Newman was absolutely the most gorgeous man.
Nice list of men of history. A few of who I would pick and how I would describe them: 1. Paul Newman - his eyes - dreamy and mischievous 2. Elvis Presley - youthful - energy and passion 3. James Dean - carefree - wild and reckless.
One other I would add to my list that's not on here, the greatest movie actor of all time - Marlon Brando - stern - power and control. Fun hub. Thanks for sharing!
